Hard work at Croatia Tour UCI 2.1

Hard work of Team Vorarlberg not yet rewarded at sprint festival at Croatia Tour UCI 2.1!

The squad from Vorarlberg has traveled without the Italian sprinter Fortin, who is currently not in the condition to drive to stage victory. Werner Salmen, the sporting director, relies on the youth and Martin Meiler at this tour. The young German from Oberammergau should be built up for the next for the sprint.

“The boys rode a strong race today on the 187-kilometer second stage to Otocac. They were always at the front and launched the sprint preparation with Bahrain, Jumbo-Visma and Israel-Start up to the final. The fact that it’s not quite enough for Martin in the final is not a disaster. He must experience the feeling and learn to deal with the responsibility what the team imposes on him. Suddenly the knot bursts!” says Werner Salmen.

Today’s stage winner was Croatian Olav Kooij (Jumbo-Visma) ahead of Einhorn (ISR/Israel Startup). Meiler placed around fifteenth.
