Alexis Guerin and Roland Thalmann move up to fourth and fifth overall!

 Long day of work for the cracks of Team Vorarlberg – Alexis Guerin and Roland Thalmann move up to fourth and fifth overall after the two half stages of the Tour of Bulgaria UCI 2.2!

 On the first half stage in the morning over 64 kilometres from Troyan to Gabrovo, the aim was not to lose time to the overall leaders.

Roland Thalmann and Alexis Guerin finished 11th and 13th, two seconds behind the winner Patryk Stosz (Voster ATS Team).

The second half stage in the afternoon over 133 kilometres from Tryavna to Sliven was peppered with four mountain classifications of the second and third category.

Right at the beginning of the first climb, the Team Vorarlberg riders set the pace very high and reduced the peloton to about 30 riders until a leading group of eight could break away from this group.

Roland Thalmann defends the leader’s jersey in the mountain classification!

Shortly before the finish Szymon Rekita of the Voster ATS Team was able to break away from the rest of the riders and win the stage.

The best Team Vorarlberg rider was Alexis Guerin, eight seconds behind. Roland Thalmann was eighth, 11 seconds behind.

In the overall standings, Kyrylo Tsarenko (Gallina Ecotek Lucchini Colosio) defends the lead. Alexis Guerin and Roland Thalmann move up to fourth and fifth place.

Roland Thalmann could collect more valuable points and defends his lead in the mountain classification.

Tomorrow, the fourth and penultimate stage from Sliven to Burgas over 138.8 kilometres follows.
