Alexis Guerin now already seventh overall in Alpes Isere Tour UCI 2.2 – Lukas Rüegg shows class in Luxembourg!
Alpes Isere Tour UCI 2.2: Alexis Guerin moves up to seventh overall – Riccardo Zoidl`s escape to the front! Lukas Rüegg fights at the Fleche du Sud UCI 2.2
It was the predicted attack stage. The fourth stage of the Alpes Isere Tour from Saint-Maurice-IÈxil to Beaurepaire over 171 kilometers was peppered with several longer climbs. Nevertheless, it came to the sprint of a larger group with Alexis Guerin and Riccardo Zoidl. Thus the two Vorarlberg pros are in the classification at the same time as winner Valentin Retaillieau (FRA/AG2R Citröen).
Riccardo Zoidl attacked with his Austrian compatriot Sebastian Schönberger (B&B Hotels-KTM) at the midpoint of the long climb, but was dropped again after the mountain classification.
Alexis Guerin today picks up bonus seconds on the sprint classification and moves up to intermediate seventh place.
The final stage (133 km / 4500 meters altitude) will decide the race tomorrow. The pros can expect a tough ride through the Rhone Alps in southeastern France, following in the footsteps of the Tour de France.
