Alexis Guerin starts successfully into the season!

Team Vorarlberg pro Alexis Guerin starts the 2021 season with second place at the „Ronde du Pays Basque“!

 

Alexis Guerin recorded a top start to the season in his first race in France at the Ronde du Pays du Basque. He finished an excellent second behind Stefan Bennett (FRA / Pro Team Immo) after the tough 105 kilometer stage.

 

Bennet and Guerin attacked in the final of the race in the climb to Col de Gamia. In the sprint against Bennett he had to admit defeat, but was happy about this good debut. Third was Romain Campistrous (FRA / Occitane) at the Basque border, 37 seconds behind.

 

In the second race on Sunday, the Trophee de IÈssor in Mauleon over 125 kilometers, Guerin finished the race in the main field. The race was decided in a bunch sprint. Winner Romain Feillu, who has already worn the yellow jersey at the Tour de France.

At the end of last year, Alexis was able to celebrate the birth of a child. This seems to have motivated him in winter training. A few weeks ago, the news that he is Covid-19 positive. In coordination with his doctor, Guerin controlled the training accordingly and already showed himself in good shape again last weekend.
