Alexis Guerin storms with second place on the first stage in the yellow jersey at the Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc!
That was an announcement on the first stage from Bonneville to Praz sur Arly over 122 kilometers! French Team Vorarlberg pro Alexis Guerin sensationally finished second and took over the yellow jersey in the overall intermediate classification ahead of today’s stage winner Santiago Umba from Colombia of Team Androni-Giacatolli!
Guerin was in a five-man lead group in the heavy rain race. Three Androni-Giocatolli riders were among them. In the sprint Umba was just ahead of Guerin, but it should be enough for the yellow jersey. Roland Thalmann finished a good tenth (+1min 4sec), Colin Stüssi completed the good team result with 19th place (+1min 36sec).
Tomorrow the second and super difficult climbing stage with the arrival Col du Galibier at 2624 meters!
