Another top ten finish for Alexis Guerin (5th) and Roland Thalmann (8th) in the CRO Race UCI 2.1!
Today’s fifth stage from Rabac/Labin to Opatija over 137.5 km was the queen stage of the six-day tour in Croatia. Five mountain classifications of different categories were on the programme.
At the beginning of the second and longest climb of the day, the peloton was selected and the climbers and classification riders were among themselves. The two Team Vorarlberg pros Alexis Guerin and Roland Thalmann were in this group.
In the team ranking, Team Vorarlberg is in second place behind Bahrain – Victorious!
On the final climb of the day, eventual winner Stephen Williams (Bahrain – Victorious) broke away from the group to win by 10 seconds from Markus Hoelgaard (Uno-X Pro Cycling Team) and Mick van Dijke (Team Jumbo-Visma).
Alexis Guerin and Roland Thalmann cross the finish line in fifth and eighth place in the day’s classification. Lukas Meiler crosses the finish line with the next larger group.
In the team ranking, Team Vorarlberg is in a sensational second place behind the World Tour team Bahrain – Victorious.
Overall and as a team, a super strong season finale – that makes you want more!
