Bad news for Team Vorarlberg! Captain Roland Thalmann with arm fracture at Circuit des Ardennes UCI 2.2

This is bitter for Team Vorarlberg! Captain Thalmann with upper arm fracture out at the first stage of the 47th Int. Circuit des Ardennes – Covid diseases puts half team out of action!

No good news from Team Vorarlberg. On today’s first stage over 162 kilometers of the Circuit des Ardennes, with start and finish in Signy le Petit, the Swiss Roland Thalmann has broken his upper arm in a heavy fall. Initial diagnosis: multiple fracture and surgery. This failure weighs very painfully. Nevertheless he will fight his way back as he is known!

We wish “Roli” the very best and a good, fast recovery!

This is not enough! More than half of the Vorarlberg pros are currently out of action due to positive Covid-19 tests. Presumably they caught the virus on their way back from the training camp. Most of them are doing well. The return to racing will be coordinated by the athletes in consultation with their respective doctors.

Sporty? Fitting for today!

After the fall of Thalmann, the field has divided. Due to Corona’s illness, there were only four of them. The young Vorarlberg Dominik Amann showed a strong and spirited race, but still could not bring his two leaders Alexis Guerin and Lukas Meiler to the front. Outnumbered, they were clearly outclassed today, and thus no countable result.

The focus is now on stage results and digesting this hard, administered food – this is also sport!
