Bitter! Alexis Guerin is put down in the last metres – fifth place!
Tomorrow there is only “all in” in the fight for the overall victory of the 11th Int. Oberösterreich Rundfahrt!
Almost everything done right, but only ALMOST! Jan Maas (Leopard) and Team Vorarlberg legionnaire Alexis Guerin dominate the race as a duo and ride towards the supposed stage victory. In the climb after 143 kilometres to the finish in Oberneukirchen, they are caught and overrun by the chasers a few metres before the finish. How hard the sport is was seen again today. Guerin finished fifth, Adria Moreno came in a close eighth.
The winner was the Czech Mikael Schlegel (Elkov-Kasper) ahead of Ricardo Zoidl (Team Felbermayr). These positions are also the places in the overall ranking.
Showdown for overall victory in Hinterstoder!
Tomorrow the difficult final stage from Traun up to Hinterstoder over 125 kilometres. The decision will be made in the final climb up the Höss, about 10 kilometres with 1000 metres altitude difference. There is only “all in”!
Again live at www.k19.at who delivered great pictures again today!
