Colin Stüssi shows up at the 59th GP of the Canton Aargau (Suisse) UCI 1.1 against the World Tour pro riders!

59th GP of the Canton of Aargau UCI 1.1 – Colin Stüssi among the world’s best – Jon Knolle “man of the day”.

Hopp Schwiiz! Nine World Tour, six UCI Pro Teams – and Team Vorarlberg in the middle of it all at the Grand Prix of the Canton of Aargau in Leuggern. The expected tough race over 174 kilometers and almost 3000 meters of altitude was ridden out super hard. For most teams the warm-up for the Tour de Suisse starting on Sunday.

Knolle in the lead – Stüssi and Meiler in the finale

In sultry temperatures, Jon Knolle was the first to show up in the leading group. The German national league winner from last year acts actively from the beginning and places himself in the front in the mountain classification.

In the final it was Lukas Meiler and Colin Stüssi who were able to stand up to the big names around Marc Hirschi, Pello Bilbao, Ion Izagirre and Marco Haller. Lukas Meiler can “deliver” Colin Stüssi at the very front of the climb. In the sprint of a big group Colin Stüssi becomes strong 17th. The Swiss was thus by far the best rider of a UCI Continental Team, and confirms after rank four at the Oberösterreich Rundfahrt, his top condition.

Thibau Nys (BEL / Trek-Segafredo) wins ahead of Marc Hirschi (SUI / UAE Emirates) and Pello Bilbao (SPA / Bahrain-Victorios). Marco Haller (AUT – BORA-Hansgrohe) finished fourth.
