Concentrated power extended at Team Vorarlberg – Lukas Meiler, Pirmin Benz, Jon Knolle and Lukas Rüegg are working with great confidence for the new racing season!
Team Vorarlberg is pleased to announce some very welcome contract extensions. Lukas Meiler, the team captain, has extended his contract for another year. He will be joined by Lukas Rüegg, Pirmin Benz and Jon Knolle, which will form a very important basis for the coming season.
The tenth year of Team Vorarlberg should be a good one for Lukas Meiler!
Yes, anyone who knows Lukas knows that he will not lack motivation. Quite the opposite. The road captain wants to really attack again in 2024 and will also take on a high level of responsibility within the team.
“I’m really looking forward to my tenth season with Team Vorarlberg. The team and I both have big goals. After nine years with the team, I can justifiably say that Team Vorarlberg is my second family. Even in the past season, which was not always so easy for me, the team was always 100% behind me. I am motivated to take on a leading role in the team again, to support the young and new riders, and to make my mark on the races and win.” says Lukas Meiler

Knolle & Benz duo with important tasks
The team management has shown a lucky hand with the signings of Jon Knolle and Pirmin Benz. Not only were they important cornerstones in the team structure, they have developed excellently and will take the next step in the coming year.
“In 2024, my focus will be mainly on the tours. The primary goal is to perform strongly as a team again. This year, I was able to further develop my tactical skills in particular. I’ve learned from the races and from the team. The team always comes first. Nevertheless, I want to make the most of every opportunity that comes my way. On a good day, I’m strong enough to ride for the result. This year has rekindled the fire and my passion. Rarely have I been more motivated to prepare for next year. I’m in Australia over the winter, there couldn’t be better training conditions!” says Jon Knolle

Lukas Rüegg will also ensure top results in 2024 – and why not the Olympics too!
The 27-year-old Swiss rider is starting his fourth season with Team Vorarlberg. Rüegg achieved many important results this season and was always ready to give his all. This is how it should continue.
“I’m really looking forward to next year, as most of the riders are staying. We were already a great team this year and were able to celebrate important victories. As an all-rounder, I will try my luck on the podium, especially in the smaller tours and one-day races. In January, we will try to qualify for the Madison Olympic race in Paris at the European Championships with the Swiss national team. I’m already training hard and will be in top shape when the race starts!” Lukas Rüegg
