Incredible spectacle – first stage of Ö-Tour 2018
Start of the 70th Int. Austria Tour in Feldkirch became a cycling spectacle – Roland Thalmann becomes strong figure eight – Team Vorarlberg Santic save in the overall ranking!
What was that for a prelude in Feldkirch! Thousands of spectators at the start of the jubilee tour – unbelievable cycling atmosphere around Team Vorarlberg Santic !!!
Davide Orrico attacked in the beginning of the race and was able to settle successfully in a top group. Nevertheless, they were not allowed to go far forward. Bahrain Merida drove forward and was able to catch up. Roland Thalmann then attacks at the driveway to the Black Sea and was also put back.
Feldkirch’s Grande Finale was the name of the game – in the spectacular finish line through the narrow alleyways through the Montfort city, Slovenian Mahojric from World Tour Team Bahrain Merida was able to win by a narrow margin. Second is his team colleague Giovanni Visconti (ITA). Strong eights Roland Thalmann. Daniel Geismayr turns 23. At the same time as the winner – as well as Schelling and Badilatti – all aspirants for a good overall result!
152.8 kilometers and 2532 vertical meters, four laps through the Walgau – what a tour start this was today in Vorarlberg.
