Team Vorarlberg youngsters Stari and Amann convince with fourth and eighth place at the City Criterium in Steyr – Lukas Rüegg at the European Championship race of the elite on rank 52
After the English weeks with numerous one-day races and extremely successful stage races, the young guard was in action this weekend. Lukas Rüegg, the Team Vorarlberg professional in the service of the Swiss national team, finished the European Championship race in Munich over 207 kilometers in 52nd place. The winner was Dutchman Fabio Jacobsen, ahead of Arnaud Demare (France) and Belgian Tim Merlier.
Linus Stari just missed the podium in Steyr
At the 24th Int. City Criterium in Steyr over 50 kilometers the youngsters showed a strong race. In the spectacular race through the old town of Steyr the decision was determined by the final classification. In front of a great crowd of spectators Linus Stari sprinted to fourth place. Dominik Amann finished eighth.
Winner was the German criterium specialist Florenz Knauer (Team 54/11) ahead of the two local heroes from Team Hrinkow Advarics Ziga Horvat (SLO) and Marvin Hammerschmid (AUT).
