Team Vorarlberg pro Maximilian Kuen in seventh place at the 11th King of the Lake – Youngster Daniel Ganahl also shows off his skills in time trials
Incredible 1400 (!!) starters at the biggest single time trial event in Europe. At the eleventh edition of this top event at Lake Attersee in Upper Austria, organized by OC boss Erwin Mayer, the Team Vorarlberg pros also showed their good form in the elite class in yesterday’s race over 47.2 kilometers (280 altitude meters).
Against the time trial specialists, Maximilian Kuen placed seventh in the elite classification. His average was 48.3 km/h. Again strong also the young neo-Pro Daniel Ganahl. As a “lightweight” he finished in an excellent eleventh place with an average of 47.2 km/h. Peter Innauen, guest rider from Switzerland becomes 13th.
Winner around the Attersee, on the completely closed course, is the German time trial specialist Julian Braun (CT SKS Sauerland) ahead of Rainer Kepplinger (Hrinkow Advarics).
Maximilian Kuen: “What happens here every year is simply unbelievable. As an elite rider, you start immediately after the amateurs and you know at the start that you have to give your all, especially in the last 20 kilometers. Motivation on top is the super fast material from Profile Design with the special wheels and cockpits on our Argon18 time trial machines – that really rolls fantastic!”
