Moran Vermeulen defends fourth place in the overall standings – team classification still in Vorarlberg hands!

Team Vorarlberg defends lead in the team classification of the 72nd Fleche du Sud UCI 2.2 – Moran Vermeulen defends fourth place overall!

Pure tension was actually pre-programmed for the 3rd stage of the Fleche du Sud because some teams still had chances on the podium.

Right at the beginning of the stage, some riders were able to break away from the peloton and were only caught up again on the second of the three final laps.

In the last climb of the day a decision was expected, but it did not happen. 70 riders come together on the last meters and sprint for the day’s victory.

Moran Vermeulen still in fourth place overall!

It wins solo Lucas Grolier (Vendée U) with two seconds ahead of the Polish Patryk Stosz (Voster ATS Team) and the Australian Patrick Eddy (Development Team DSM). All Team Vorarlberg cracks cross the finish line at the same time as the placed riders.

In the overall standings, Moran Vermeulen is still in fourth place, nine seconds behind Pim Ronhaar.

Tomorrow Sunday follows the fourth and final stage over 148 km. Start and finish are in Esch-sur-Alzette.
