29th Tour of Slovenia UCI 2nd Pro – Moran Vermeulen with gala performance on second stage
Moran Vermeulen won the award as the most active rider of the second stage from Zalec to Omoz over 163 kilometers today after a great performance. As yesterday, the stage was won by Dutch parade sprinter Dylan Groenewegen (Bahrain-Victorios) ahead of Matteo Moschetti (ITA / Q 36,5).
In the decimated peloton the overall classification riders from Team Vorarlberg Oscar Cabedo, Colin Stüssi, Lukas Meiler and Jon Knolle arrive at the same time. Knolle is the best 33rd.
Vermeulen shows his class!
Vermeulen, who has recovered after a short infection, was in the leading group until 15 kilometers before the finish, then he blew it up again and tried to escape alone from the approaching peloton. He won a sprint classification and presented Team Vorarlberg live on Eurosport for hours.
Tomorrow’s third stage to Postoina over 173 kilometers shows significantly more bumps on the altitude chart before the most difficult section on Saturday.
