Pirmin Benz and Lukas Meiler convince with ninth and tenth place at German professional cross championship – Team Vorarlberg pros with ideal conditions in preparation
“That was fun!” said Lukas Meiler after the race, last Sunday in Munich’s Olympic Park. Shortly decided the Team Vorarlberg captain has agreed after five years of cross break at the German championships. In the race over 60 minutes and one lap, he finished a strong tenth. Pirmin Benz, this year’s newcomer, dueled with Lukas Meiler for a long time in the muddy and super heavy race and finished an excellent ninth.
Partner and sponsor of the team, Dominik Dietrich (Hairstyling Dietrich), was on hand as a spectator and helper.
Lukas Meiler: “After starting from the back row, I was able to work my way up to 17th place on the first lap. In the course of the race I fought my way up to tenth place. Despite a few small mistakes and not yet being in top form, I’m satisfied. It was a lot of fun and it will help me to build up my form further. Towards the season opener in Rhodes a good load!”

The clock is ticking! Team Vorarlberg pros in the midst of preparation for a “hot” season!
On March 4, the 25th season for the professional group from Vorarlberg starts with the South Aegean Tour UCI 2.2 in Greece. Then it goes blow after blow with numerous races. The preparations of the professionals have been running at full speed since November. Numerous riders took advantage of the mild temperatures in Central Europe for their training at home with long units.
Oscar Cabedo reports 20 to 25 degrees in his home around Onda in Spain. Linus Stari, Lukas Meiler and Lukas Rüegg hit the roads in Mallorca and Gran Canaria respectively. Moran Vermeulen has chosen France as his long-term winter training base. Peter Inauen has already been busy collecting kilometers in Finale Ligure (ITA). Antoine Berlin is training around Monaco with numerous pros from other teams.
The mood among all the riders couldn’t be better, as most of them are on track with their preparations.
