Prologue Int. Oberösterreich Rundfahrt UCI 2.2 – Lukas Meiler sprints to ninth place – Dominik Amann surprises positively

It all starts in Linz! The prologue over 700 meters in Linz, which started this evening, marked the start of this year’s Oberösterreich Rundfahrt. Robert Vrecer (2012), Jannik Steimle (2019), as well as last year Alexis Guerin, could already win this tour for Team Vorarlberg. The expectations are therefore quite high, especially since “local hero” Riccardo Zoidl knows his home country like no other.

Lukas Meiler in ninth place despite rain – Dominik Amann delivers talent test!

At today’s prologue, the rain was also the executioner. Some teams put their top riders in the first half. Like Team Vorarlberg with Alexis Guerin, Riccardo Zoidl and Lukas Meiler. This should turn out in the final calculation as not the best hand, because almost all of them got some seconds added. Only Lukas Meiler, who despite slippery road on the castle hill, could still drive in the top ten. Winner on dry road last year’s winner Daan Soete (BEL/Team CX Deschacht) ahead of his compatriot Lander Loockx.

The young Vorarlberg Dominik Amann showed today a top performance and is with only 3 seconds behind Meiler, very good 24th place.

Tomorrow the tour will start with the first stage from Wels to Ranshofen over 168 kilometers.

Stage overview:

09.06. Prologue Linz 0.7 km

10.06. Wels – Ranshofen 168,5 km

11.06. Eferding – Niederkappel 129,5 km

12.06. St. Florian/Asten – Hinterstoder Höss
