Black day for Team Vorarlberg at third Tour du Loir et Cher stage in France!

 

It was a stage of the most violent kind in cycling today’s third section over 178 kilometers from Freteval to Vendome. Rain, cold with max. eight degrees, crashes. Only Lukas Rüegg arrives with the first group. Pirmin Benz crashes before the finish, and like many others had to let feathers today.

 

Werner Salmen – Sports Director: “You wouldn’t wish a day like today on anyone. Half of the field froze to death. Even Lukas Meiler as a crosser, has suffered badly today. Despite his class, he was left behind 40 kilometers before the finish. Pirmin Benz crashes in the final. Only Lukas Rüegg finishes with the first group. That was a black day for us. Nevertheless, we have to look ahead and hope that the riders stay healthy!”

 

Tomorrow, stage number four over 198 kilometers awaits with start and finish in Vernou en Sologne. The executioner will again be the weather with strong winds and partial rain forecast.
