Sensational! Lukas Meiler gives Team Vorarlberg a happy day with third place on the last Tour of Sibiu stage – on top victory in the mountain and sprint classification, second place in the team classification!

It is almost unbelievable! Sports director Werner Salmen put everything on one card today and “ordered” Lukas Meiler to attack. It worked and Lukas marched! Together with six escapees he saved a narrow lead on the 98 kilometer super fast final stage to Sibiu city.

Lukas Meiler sprinted on a wave of success to third place! Winner is the Italian Stefano Gandin.

TOP 1: Lukas Meiler (GER/27), member of Team Vorarlberg for eight years, wins the overall sprint classification as well as the mountain classification of the Tour – 3 times on the podium at an award ceremony of this magnitude = “Luki” in a class of his own.

TOP 2: Team Vorarlberg placed second in the overall team classification – only a few seconds behind World Tour Team Israel-Premier Tech, and ahead of all other World Tour and UCI Pro Teams. Chapeau to the team.

TOP 3: With Roland Thalmann, Riccardo Zoidl and Alexis Guerin three Team Vorarlberg riders placed among the top 20 of the overall individual ranking!

Congrats to all for this big show guys!!!
