Short summary Team Vorarlberg Profis at the Tour de Suisse – ready for the national championships!

It was a strong performance of the Team Vorarlberg pros at this year’s Tour de Suisse in service of the Swiss national team. The incredibly hot temperatures pushed many riders to their performance limits. The recent upsurge of Corona infections has also taken its toll on the peloton in recent days.
Lukas Rüegg has attracted attention with stage placings of 14th (3rd stage) and 17th (2nd stage). Lukas was not able to compete for the seventh stage due to a positive coronatest. Matthias Reutimann showed a solid home tour as a helper, shone on one stage as a breakaway and finished the tour in 64th place. Roland Thalmann showed himself super strong. “Roli” loves everything but the heat. That is why his performance cannot be rated highly enough. Only recovered after his upper arm fracture, he finished the royal stage in a sensational 7th place – among the world’s best of all World Tour teams. In the overall standings, team captain Thalmann finished in an outstanding 24th place! Congrats to all!

Next weekend the national championships will take place all over Europe. Especially at the road championships on Sunday we hope for one or the other top result in Austria (Zoidl, Amann, Ganahl, Stari, Riegler), Switzerland (Thalmann, Stüssi, Reutimann, Rüegg) or in Germany (Lukas / Martin Meiler). Alexis Guerin, meanwhile, is preparing for the following Sibiu Cycling Tour UCI 2.1 at an altitude training camp!
