Ski mountaineer Daniel Ganahl from Montafon enters professional cycling!
Ski hillclimb power from the Montafon for Team Vorarlberg – ski mountaineer Daniel Ganahl enters professional cycling!
Steep uphill it goes in ski mountaineering! So also the sporty career of Daniel Ganahl. The 24-year-old Vorarlberger from Gaschurn in the Montafon, provided this year nationally and internationally for great results. Since the young ÖSV athlete has already gained his experience on the racing bike in various marathons and mountain races in recent years, the team managers became aware of him last year.
Thomas Kofler – Team Manager: “Daniel is a really great athlete and type. He has a real engine, especially on the mountain, because ski mountaineers have to go permanently to the performance limit. He will still have to work on his endurance and technique, but he has the best prerequisites and an optimal environment. The first meeting last week at the photo shoot with the other riders was already a good adjustment. He will make his debut at the race in Wels at the end of April. Daniel is already looking forward to his home race at the GP Vorarlberg on May 1st in Nenzing. We wish Daniel a great start with us!”
Daniel Ganahl: “I have been in the Austrian national team of ski mountaineers for three years. I have been able to improve permanently and have also noticed this physical progress on the bike in summer training. During last year’s three challenges against the pros at “Austria turns the wheel” on the Großglockner, the Kitzbühler Horn and the Ötztal Glacier, I noticed that I was strong. This brought me into contact with Team Vorarlberg, and I am grateful for this opportunity. I want to integrate well into the team, help my team colleagues and, above all, learn a lot!”
