Strong Team Vorrlberg Santic

Alexis Guerin storms to second place at the 56th Giro del Regione de Friuli thanks to great teamwork – Maximilian Kuen defends the lead in the sprint classification!

Summary of today? Everything is risked and almost everything is won! Only the Norwegian Pro Continental Team Uno-X stood in the way of the Vorarlberg Santic team. Andreas Leknessund (NOR) wins the third and most difficult stage over 148 kilometers from San Vito al Tagliamento to Buja solo. Behind the Dane Asbjorn Hellemose, Alexis Guerin finished in an excellent third place and placed second in the overall individual standings before the final stage. Maximilian Kuen can defend his sprint jersey with great effort.

Guerin and colleagues set off fireworks in the mountains!

The entire team first places itself in the service of Kuen. Thalmann wins the first sprint classification and thus secures the points for his team colleague, who was happy at the finish with the second day at the award ceremony. In the final, Stüssi, Thalmann and Orrico almost sprint into the ascent of the longest mountain. The 150 man strong split up completely. Today’s overpowering Norwegian rushes to Leknessund on the last kilometer. But Guerin almost single-handedly dismantles his colleagues and is third today.

Werner Salmen: “My short coment – the guys implemented their tactics in full and rode really well today. The Norwegians deserve the yellow jersey, but we’re showing our best side here with two people at the award ceremony! “

Tomorrow the final stage of what will probably be the last tour of the year. And this will be a tough battle with a hot weather change and cool degrees.
