Team Vorarlberg and “Stüssi Show” on the second stage over Col de Madelaine at the Le Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc UCI 2.2 – stage victory and overall leader!

Patrick Schelling continues sensational at Tour de Suisse!

Somewhat awesome the approach to the second stage from Moutiers to La Norma (121 KM / 3355 altitude). After eight kilometers already the 25-kilometer climb to the Col de la Madeleine (1977m). One of the busiest alpine passes in the Tour de France.

Immediately at the first kilometer the attack of Davide Orrico. “Bomber” does not come away decisively after a flat tire. Two other riders succeed in this endeavor. Gordian Banzer can disengage from the field in the climb to the Col de la Madeleine and crosses the pass in third. The Pro Continental Team Arkea Samsic with her leader in the ranks has to do tracking work and rubs off completely!

Then Colin Stüssi goes … and wins solo!
After leaving the Col de la Madeleine, 70km from the finish, a small group with Colin Stüssi breaks away. At the last mountain of the category 1, the Col de Aussois (1487m) 15 KM before the finish, Stüssi sets the attack and rides solo towards La Norma. Drawn by his efforts, he fights the last three kilometers into the ski resort and celebrates his second win of the season after the GP Vorarlberg!

Stage win, Yellow Jersey and three jerseys – Diaz, Banzer and the whole team TOP top!
Stüssi collects five jerseys and leads the overall ranking of the tour. In addition the mountain jersey. Jose Manuel Diaz Gallego finished on eighth. Gordian Banzer is 23rd, Daniel Geismayr 29th! Thus also currently the best team of the Tour on Mont Blanc.

Now it is time to recover well and gain new strength. Two half-stages are waiting tomorrow. In the morning a fast, in the afternoon a very hard with a good 1800 meters in 45 kilometers.
“What a day guys – well done!”

Schelling continues to be brilliant at the Tour de Suisse – 15th place at the Gotthard in Egan Bernal victory!
Also in Switzerland a challenge over 216 kilometers over Flims, Lukmanierpass (1971m) up to the finish to the Gotthard Pass at 2090 meters above sea level. And even today Patrick Schelling shows a world class performance. He is only 1min 20sec behind stage winner Egan Bernal (COL / Ineos) 15th! Thus, he ranks in the overall standings before tomorrow’s time trial in the middle of the top of the sounding names (12th).
