83rd Giro dell Appennino UCI 1.1 – Team Vorarlberg cracks show super strong race in Italy – the direction is now forward!

Finally again a race in the cycling country Italy. 191 – with over 3000 meters of altitude salted kilometers from Pasturana to Genoa. The 83rd edition of this Italian one-day classic, manned by numerous top teams from the World Tour and the UCI Pro Team League, was well worth the trip.

Lukas Meiler second in the mountain classification – Alexis Guerin just missed a “super result”!

Season’s winner Lukas Meiler was today one of the top riders and provided on Italian television for great words around the Team Vorarlberg, because even before Lukas Rüegg and Colin Stüssi, as well as Riccardo Zoidl have turned on the power tap. Meiler finished second in the overall climb classification today. Alexis Guerin missed only a few seconds on the last climb, otherwise he sprints for the podium. So he becomes “only” 18th today, but the tendencies of all riders clearly point upwards.

“This makes bike races really fun again. To fight against great riders like Quintana, Meintjes, Zana, Ancona, etc. and to be able to ride, but also to start actions. Today, everyone proved their good form and did their job. There is only little missing to the top result. This will come soon.” Werner Salmen – Sports Director Team Vorarlberg
