Int. Oberösterreich Rundfahrt UCI 2.2 – Team Vorarlberg on hectic second day in Ranshofen still on target

Already after three kilometers there is a crash in the middle of the peloton. One of the main victims is Daniel Ganahl from Vorarlberg. The rider from Montafon is taken off his bike and has to go down. After the stage he is examined on the shoulder.

In the course of the stage from Wels to Ranshofen over 168 kilometers, Team Vorarlberg showed its responsibility and brought back the last escapees. Stüssi, Meiler and Amann did a perfect team job today.

In the not easy final the Team Vorarlberg leaders kept out of it and are already planning their tactics for tomorrow. Stage winner today was the Norwegian Andreas Nielsen (Team Coop) ahead of yesterday’s winner Daan Soete (BEL/CX Deschacht). The latter should also continue to wear the leader’s jersey on his shoulders.

Werner Salmen – Sports Director: “So far everything went very well today. We have not lost any seconds in the overall standings. Tomorrow already follows a short but very dangerous stage. Too bad with the fall of Daniel. We now have to see how he survives the night. But he is a fighter and will bite his teeth!”

From Eferding to Niederkappel it says in the roadbook. Short and crisp the commentary of Ricci Zoidl with 129 kilometers, but with 2100 meters of altitude.

Stage overview:

09.06. Prolog Linz 0,7 Km

10.06. Wels – Ranshofen 168,5 km

11.06. Eferding – Niederkappel 129,5 km

12.06. St. Florian/Asten – Hinterstoder Höss
