Team Vorarlberg on the trail of the Tour de France by the Tour Alsace UCI 2.2!

Roland Thalmann in seventh place in the third stage of the Tour Alsace UCI 2.2!

Today’s third stage was something for the mountain specialists. 144 kilometres with over 3,000 metres of altitude difference had to be mastered from Vesoul to La Super Planche des Belles Filles (mountain finish).

Right at the beginning of the stage, a leading group was able to break away from the peloton, but was caught up again before the final climb. The riders of Team Vorarlberg controlled the peloton.

Roland Thalmann defends his lead in the mountain classification!

Right at the beginning of the last climb the pace was kept high and the peloton became smaller and smaller. 2 kilometres before the finish, the later winner Finlay Pickering (Equipe continentale Groupama-FDJ) broke away and won ahead of Jordan Jegat (Team U Nantes Atlantique) and Lennert Van Eetvelt (Lotto – Soudal U23).

Roland Thalmann in seventh place is the best-placed Team Vorarlberg rider.

In the overall classification of the Tour, Roland Thalmann is now in third place, 27 seconds behind today’s winner. Roland Thalmann still leads the mountain classification.

Pure suspense for tomorrow’s fourth stage from Kembs to Altkirch over 169.5 kilometres.
