Team Vorarlberg Santic full attacks on the final stage of the Czech Cycling Tour UCI 2.1!
Diaz Gallego grabs the general mountain jersey – Stüssi finishes with sixth stage place! Youngsters rock at the Salzburg Ring!
Today’s last stage in Czech from Mohelnice to Sternberk over 178 kilometers was the stage where there was something else to do. One of a few teams where they dared was once again Team Vorarlberg Santic. The “big teams” of Mitchelton-Scott and BORA-hansgrohe were doomed to scrutinize – and did!
Jose Manuel Diaz Gallego grabs mountain jersey – Colin Stüssi great sixth in Sternbeck!
The young Spanish Jose Manuel Diaz Gallego was chosen to occupy the first group. And lo and behold – he set off. Diaz picks up almost all the mountain points on the difficult stage and crowns himself mountain king of the Czech Tour 2019.
The small group was indeed put back. But in the final, the Vorarlbergers are also fighting! Mitchelton-Sott is playing the game and landing a double win by Lucas Hamilton and Darey Impey. Colin Stüssi is an excellent stage place sixth – Roland Thalmann top with 12th place.
Thalmann, Stüssi and Schelling bring UCI points – Team Vorarlberg Santic third best team!
This year’s Czech Tour wins Darey Impey (RSA / Mitchelton-Scott). Three Team Vorarlberg Santic riders are in the top 20 and get the UCI points (Thalmann 11th, Stüssi 15th and Schelling 18th). Behind the two teams of Mitchelton-Scott and Elkov-author this same highly categorized tour we finished the Tour of Austria in third place – great job guys!

Youngsters strong at the Salzburg Ring (AUT) – Daniel Knapp and Dominik Amann in Top Ten!
Strong today the young delegation of the Team Vorarlberg Santic. At the first edition of the BORA-hansgrohe Cup on the Salzburg Ring, the Tyrolean Daniel Knapp will be the best sixth. The Vorarlberg Dominik Amann will be great ninth. Knapp and Amann were in the lead in the fast race on the ring and were able to rock a really cool final. Martin Meiler is third in the sprint of the field and overall 23. Well done guys.
