TOP! Team Vorarlberg Pro Riccardo Zoidl strong eighth after feat of strength on second stage!
Riccardo Zoidl strong eighth after feat of strength on second stage of the Sazka Tour UCI 2.1 in the Czech Republic!
A first selection for the overall classification should fall today. The second stage over 189 kilometers of the Sazka Tour with start in Olomouc, ended after 3000 meters of altitude on the Pustevny. And it was a hard piece of work in the great heat for professionals.
Zoidl back after feat of strength – and shines with eighth place!
First it was Lukas Rüegg who went down after a heavy crash. After material damage repair he can continue the race. 40 kilometers before the end of the race in a very unfortunate phase, Riccardo Zoidl suffers rear wheel failure and has to make up more than 2 minutes, because the team car was not immediately on the spot due to narrow roads. With a real show of strength Ricci finds his way back.
In the final climb, it was once again Zoidl, who was riding super strong today, who was able to keep up with the best. He lost only a few seconds to the winner Lorenzo Rota (ITA/Intermarche-Wanty) and finished in an excellent eighth place.
Second of the stage is Oscar Onley (GBR/DSM) ahead of Domenico Pozzovivo (ITA/Intermarche-Wanty).
Team Vorarlberg top again!
With Colin Stüssi (15th), Roland Thalmann (20th) and Lukas Meiler (34th) Team Vorarlberg showed itself super strong again today. The World Tour Team Intermarche-Wanty is at the start with the team from the Giro d Italia, and is preparing for the Vuelta Espana. They also lead the team classification. Amidst the top teams, Team Vorarlberg continued to move up in the team standings.
Also tomorrow it’s mountains, mountains, mountains!
