Turbulent start of the Sazka Tour UCI 2.1 for Team Vorarlberg!
Sazka Tour UCI 2.1 at first stage on detours – Team Vorarlberg professionals ready at the same time before ReStart in the mountains!
After the extremely strong performance in Alsace at the Tour Alsace last week, was already today the same row plus Matthias Reutimann for Team Vorarlberg at work. The biggest tour in the Czech Republic as always well staffed with World Tour teams (BORA-hansgrohe, Bike-Exchange, Intermarche-Wanty), as well as UCI Pro teams. In 2018 Team Vorarlberg pro Riccardo Zoidl could win this tour!
Today’s first section from Unicov to Prostejov over almost 200 kilometers had to be shortened by a few kilometers due to a special circumstance. On the final lap the leading group as well as the peloton got lost. The race was stopped and restarted on the correct course. Due to the shortening, the leading riders saved half a minute advantage to the finish. Winner and first leader of the Tour of Team Sport Flaanderen – Baloise, the Belgian Rune Herregodts. All Team Vorarlberg finish at the same time with the Tour favorites.
From tomorrow it’s off to the mountains!
The next three stages are all designed for mountain-resistant riders. Tomorrow awaits in Pustevny the first mountain finish after 189 kilometers in Pustevny. Likewise on Saturday – this stage ends at 1323 meters above sea level.
