Cycling is teamwork. And as a team, we not only conquer race stages, but also our own limits. In a bid to achieve a common goal, we seek out challenges in extreme ascents and the adversity of the elements – all just to keep re-discovering one thing: Raw emotion in the spectacular settings of all kinds of landscapes. There’s no question that we ride for success, but also, and most importantly, for an indescribably intense natural experience. That’s our idea of cycling at its best.
professionalism
From family business to top team – In the space of just a few years, Team Vorarlberg became a professional group competing at an international level.
international experience
You set your own limits. With a passion for one of the most demanding and fascinating sports out there, we seek out challenges in extremes.
talent factory
Young researchers – they work with us too. Team Vorarlberg has always considered itself a talent pool for promising newcomers.
authenticity
Sportsmanship first – As a member of the MPCC, we have for years been setting a clear standard in the fight against doping and thus for clean sport.
How everything began...
Thomas Kofler founded the ÖAMTC Volksbank-Colnago team in 1999. This was followed by some initial promising results in the elite and U23 categories.
The wheels continue to roll...
Setting the course towards the professional team. Acquisition of new sponsors and extension of the support staff. Win the mountain jersey by Martin Fischerlehner and the sprint jersey by Jochen Summer at the Tour of Austria. Overall victories in the Tour of Brandenburg and the Tour of Greece, as well as the second overall place in the Tour of Austria by Jure Golcer in the following year.
The foundation stone has been laid...
International UCI victories in the race around the airport Cologne-Bonn by Pascal Hungerbühler and in the Bernese tour by René Weissinger in the following year. Three out of four possible national championship titles in Austria go to Vorarlberg. The way to the Professional Continental Team and into the second highest international cycling league is leveled.
Top Austrian Team
Following the success of the Tour de Suisse last year, Weissinger wins the sprint jersey in 2008 at the fourth-largest round trip in the world. With Daniel Musiol's conquest of the mountain jersey in the Tour of Germany and Andreas Dietziker's second place in the overall ranking of the tour of Bayern, the successes on the international stage are confirmed.
From success to success
Great successes are celebrated in Turkey and in Denmark. The team can convince but above all in the home. The strong record: stage victories in the Tour of Austria and Tour of Upper Austria, as well as the overall victory in the Tchibo Top Rad league.
The big litter
The rejuvenation of the team is bearing fruit! The young talents establish themselves and show very good performances. A long-cherished dream comes true. Victor de la Parte wins for the first time in the long team history the Tour of Austria, as well as the two mountain arrivals at the Dobratsch and Kitzbühler Horn. Furthermore, the overall classification of the Fleche du Sud, stages in various tours, as well as the prestigious classic Paris - Mantes won.
20 years Team Vorarlberg
Exciting, successful, disappointing, but above all eventful years lie behind the cycling team from Vorarlberg. At a certain distance, however, it is safe to say with a good portion of pride that they were two great decades.
