Tour of Antalya UCI 2.1 Stage 3 – Colin Stüssi successfully tests his form with 20th place on the queen stage – Lukas Meiler shines in the leading group

Colin Stüssi in the top 20 on the third stage of the Tour of Antalya UCI 2.1 – Lukas Meiler with a strong performance

Today’s queen stage with over 3000 meters of climbing over 133 kilometers, including the mountain arrival in Tahtali, brought the expected preliminary decision for the tour victory. Italian Davide Piganzoli (Team Polti-Kometa) won solo and took the overall lead. Lukas Meiler was strong today with his ride in the leading group. Colin Stüssi is satisfied with 20th place in the top field. Test of form passed!

Exciting race with Lukas Meiler in the lead

The main goal today: to place Colin Stüssi or Lukas Meiler in the leading group. Lukas Meiler succeeded. After a few attacks at the start, Meiler was able to break away with four strong rivals. He won the first mountain classification and came third in the sprint classification.

In the final climb, Swiss newcomer Felix Stehli and Lukas Meiler were able to place their captain Colin Stüssi accordingly. Stüssi fought his way up the steep ramps to 20th place, with almost only riders from the larger teams ahead of him.

Step it up again for the finale!

The 5th edition of the tour will end tomorrow with the longest stage, starting and finishing in Antalya. Over 2000 meters in altitude and 184 kilometers await in the hilly hinterland of Antalya.
